Q2 2016 Meeting Recap
We held our 2nd quarter 2016 general meeting on May 22 at the Reflection Bay Event Center. Steve Rosa with Brazoria County Office of Emergency Management and Bill Ray with the Homeland Preparedness Project gave an excellent presentation on emergency preparedness, covering major issues such as hurricanes, floods, fire, poison, etc. It was very informative and helpful.
Among topics discussed were providing First Aid Training for our Residents, CERT training , and other ways to volunteer. Even if you aren’t planning to volunteer, much of this training can be applied to your everyday life – knowing what to do when your loved one breaks an arm or has a deep cut, understanding evacuation points and methods to avoid panic, etc.
We also reviewed year-to-date crime stats from PPD, which overall showed a favorable trend downward in crime.
