What would you do if someone attacked you from behind while you were entering your car? How would you react if someone pulled a knife on you?
Shadow Creek Ranch Neighborhood Watch is proud to be sponsoring two excellent training programs, and we’ll discuss both in greater detail at the meeting.
Join us to find out more about these opportunities, recent crime in the community, recaps of our last meeting and other relevant crime and safety information at our next general meeting.

Register Your Security Cameras!
Help not only yourself but your neighbors by registering your security cameras with PPD.
Participation is voluntary, but by registering your cameras, you notify PPD of their existence. Your cameras may capture valuable footage of suspects passing through your neighborhood, even if they don’t step foot onto your property. This remains completely private – only PPD knows of your camera’s existence. Please register and help fight crime!

Emergency Preparedness Packets available!
Our speakers at our May meeting (Steve Rosa and Bill Ray) provided us a number of bags of emergency preparedness materials – emergency number lists, emergency document plastic waterproof bag, pen, planning cards, information on CERT training, and other important information. Q2 2016 Meeting Recap
We held our 2nd quarter 2016 general meeting on May 22 at the Reflection Bay Event Center. Steve Rosa with Brazoria County Office of Emergency Management and Bill Ray with the Homeland Preparedness Project gave an excellent presentation on emergency preparedness, covering major issues such as hurricanes, floods, fire, poison, etc. It was very informative and helpful.
Among topics discussed were providing First Aid Training for our Residents, CERT training , and other ways to volunteer. Even if you aren’t planning to volunteer, much of this training can be applied to your everyday life – knowing what to do when your loved one breaks an arm or has a deep cut, understanding evacuation points and methods to avoid panic, etc.
We also reviewed year-to-date crime stats from PPD, which overall showed a favorable trend downward in crime.
Alert
On Monday, March 2nd, at approximately 6pm, a 13-year old boy was approached on an SCR hiking trail by a male dressed in all black clothing with his face completely covered. The male attempted to grab the boy, who was fortunately able to wriggle out of his shirt and run away. The boy is physically safe with the exception of a few bruises. The incident occurred on the hiking trail that runs from Kingsley on the western side behind the Avenues at Shadow Creek apartments to E. Clear Lake Loop on the eastern edge. No other details are available at this time. Please talk to your children about stranger danger and consider escorting them to and from area activities for the immediate future.
